Beschreibung

The Letters of Ruth Pitter:Silent Music is a selection of the most important letters written by Pitter, who won the Hawthornden Prize in 1937 for A Trophy of Arms (1936) and the Queen’s Gold Medal for Poetry in 1955. Her letters, spanning 1908 to 1988, offer insights into some of most important literary, social, and historical events of this period; especially compelling are the letters she wrote while living in London during World War II.
