Historias de Putas

Enzo Maqueira calls his Historias de putas neither journalistic nor a work of fiction, as much a novel as a collection of stories. It can be read as a work of history that transports the reader to the ritual prostitution in ancient Greek bordellos and Babylonian temples, or as a series of snapshots both sordid and picturesque.

Enzo Maqueira is an Argentinean writer, editor, and university professor. He contributes to various cultural publications in Argentina and abroad and is the author of Cortázar, de cronopios y compromisos, El perseguidor de la libertad, and Historias de putas.
