Gabi Czerniak studied art at London's Goldsmiths College before working as a portrait artist and photo-journalist. Without the help of her great uncle Kasimir she admits that none of this would be possible. She regards this book as a vessel for his wisdom; a small gesture towards repaying all of his kindness. William Czerniak-Jones, Kasimir's great nephew, hopes that all within his family will now put their differences to one side and see the book as a monument to an exceptional man-something to transcend petty squabbles about financial gain.
