Beschreibung

In Part 21, Rebeka adds to her Women At Work drawings and is overwhelmed by the positive responses. As her journey of touching goes on, she takes some risks which help her to realize that she is being healed. While waiting for a friend, Sharlene and her catalyst are assaulted by five young men. Angelisa doesn't feel ready to be the focal point to build a library for her culture's documents. A peek inside: She explains, "Of all the males I've been around, known, or even heard of, you're the one who most deserves to be able to see a woman in all of her feminine beauty, and you're the one who most deserves to be allowed to touch all of her feminine beauty. Last night, when you were giving us pleasure, even though you know you're free to fully touch both Sharlene and Angelisa, you didn't touch them any more than how far you've taken me on my journey of touching simply because you couldn't see who you were touching and didn't want to touch me more than you believed you should. Then you trusted them when they guided you to touch them more intimately. The respect you showed me by not touching them more, simply to avoid touching me more, is unbelievable. "And then you showed me even more respect by believing I wouldn't cheat on my journey of touching and you don't know how tempted I was. I've never had anyone treat me with so much respect. I'll never be able to thank Sharlene, Angelisa, or Klara enough for all of the love, care, support, and encouragement they've given me, when I didn't deserve an ounce of it. Without slighting anything they've done for me, you've done something they couldn't do which means my gratitude towards you is even greater. You've put me on the path to healing completely and you did that long before you ever touched me. What you did was to stop me from automatically hating half of the entire human race. "After what happened to me, it was so easy for me to hate all men as monsters, as murderers of female dignity, as thieves of women's self-esteem, and as rapists who are no better than animals. Yes, it was Angelisa and Sharlene who encouraged me to take a second look at you, but they wouldn't have done so if you weren't already demonstrating those qualities which made me realize that not all men are like what I suffered from and that I couldn't automatically hate all of them. Even if ninety nine percent of men are monsters, I couldn't be honest with myself and automatically condemn the one percent. You've stopped me from living a life filled with hatred which would have poisoned all that I did and all that I am. "You've treated me with complete respect, you've loved me, cared about me, supported me, encouraged me, put me on the path to financial stability, and on top of all of that, you've shown me that intimacy can be beautiful and pleasurable instead of being a prison of pain and humiliation. I wouldn't be who I am or can be without you. You've given me life, freedom, a future, and resurrected my dead heart. And all of that, you gave to me freely, with no strings attached, and without expecting anything in return. I know you aren't looking for a reward or anything like that, but from my perspective I have to somehow express my gratitude towards you and to have you look at me no matter how little clothing I might have on, doesn't come close to beginning to reward you. "George, even giving you my body as an attempt to reward you for all you've done for me isn't enough because as Sharlene and Angelisa have also learned, giving you my body for you to touch is more like giving myself a gift for all the pleasure you give me. I can give you my bare body, but you give it back filled to overflowing with wonderful comfort and pleasure. . . . Okay, maybe none of us truly deserve anything, but in my opinion, you've more than earned the opportunity to see all of me and to touch all of me and I don't care who thinks otherwise."
