Dominoes for Beginners

Whether the tiles come out for a family evening, a club night or a rainy afternoon with the grandchildren, this guide gets everyone playing correctly within minutes. It starts with sets, pips, shuffling and matching ends, then teaches the Block Game, the Draw Game, All Fives (Muggins) and Mexican Train. Each game has its rules in plain steps, a hand played out tile by tile and scoring worked with real sums. Strategy chapters show which tiles to play first, how to block opponents, how to handle doubles, how to count tiles and how to plan a long train. You also get Chicken Foot, partnership play, house rules, table manners and online play. Every chapter ends with practice positions and answers, and a summary page for each game closes the book.
