Euchre for Beginners

Someone says they need a fourth, and suddenly you are holding five cards while everyone else seems to know what the jacks do. This friendly guide takes you from the 24-card deck to confident play. You will learn the deal, following suit, and the right and left bowers that change rank once trump is chosen. Calling trump is taught step by step: when to order up the turned card, when to name a suit in the second round, and when to go alone. Scoring is shown with worked examples of marches, euchres and loners. Strategy chapters cover leading, trumping a partner's winner, counting trump and adjusting to the score. You also get stick the dealer, two- and three-handed play, table manners and online tips, with practice hands and answers throughout.
