A lawyer must free two US soldiers facing international criminal charges in the New York Times- bestselling author's "timely and provocative thriller" ( Publishers Weekly ). After bombing a building in Pakistan thought to be the site of a meeting between al Qaeda and the Taliban, a US fighter jet is immediately hit by Stinger missiles. The two pilots are captured alive-and spirited to the Netherlands to stand trial for war crimes. The building they hit was a medical post for Afghan refugees... and sixty-five innocent people were killed. It's up to Washington criminal defense lawyer and former Navy SEAL Jack Caskey to defend the American officers and expose what looks increasingly like an act of sabotage. Though President Obama has the authority to extract the wrongly held officers, he chooses to cooperate with the International Criminal Court. Now an outraged Caskey must delve into the shadowy world of special operations to free his clients himself...
