La rumeur d'Aquitaine

In his book Jean Lacouture presents a series of portraits of ten authors from the region of Aquitaine, from the troubadours to Claude Mauriac, while studying in each how regional identity combines with the universal ideal of literature. Among other authors are presented Montaigne, Marguerite de Navarre, Jacques Rivière, Elie Faure, Gaétan Picon, Claude Mauriac. Jean Lacouture is the author of important biographies on Malraux, Mendès-France, Léon Blum, De Gaulle, etc. His previous book, Stendhal. Le bonheur vagabond, was published in 2004 by Le Seuil.
