The King condemns a baby to die in order to keep an old woman's prophecy from coming true--that the baby would one day marry the King's daughter. The child is eventually saved and his life carries on as any other would until his adolescence, when he is thrust into adventures and tests of character. "Will he marry the King's daughter? Will he ever reign? Or will he be condemned to row against the current of destiny that drags so many men down?"
