When Katherine's fiance, Sean, was transferred from Pittsburgh to Scottsdale, Arizona, their wedding plans were put on hold. Katherine, who was not known to do anything alone or without someone on the other end of her cell phone, quits her job, packs their things and hopes to surprise Sean by driving cross-country by herself. Not particularly adept at navigation, her car breaks down in the most unlikely of places; what passes for a road in the mountains of Colorado.

Loving ghost stories as a kid, she immediately fell in love with the French Quarter, and it's vivid history about those both alive and dead. Her imagination is sparked daily by the mysteries of Vieux Carré. Stories abound about past and present residents and it keeps her author's mind filled to the brim with ideas. Settling down has never been her idea of fun, so Jill is always looking for another adventure.
