In addition to writing, Joel appears regularly on television as a spirits and cocktail expert and hosts tastings and events across the globe. Joel is a Keeper of the Quaich, Scotch whisky's highest honor, is a member of the Worshipful Company of Distillers, and received the Freedom of the City of London in 2020 for his work in drinks. He also holds titles with the Compagnie des Mousquetaires d'Armagnac and the Gin Guild.
