Excursions into Modernism

Positioned at a crossroads between feminist geographies and modernist studies, Excursions into Modernism investigates the imaginative potential of travel for women writers, reading women's modernist fiction in tandem with women's travel narratives. Drawing on a range of archival materials, she offers rich revisionary readings of canonical and lesser-known texts ranging from Jean Rhys's Voyage in the Dark to Virginia Woolf's The Voyage Out and from Evelyn Scott's Escapade to Dorothy Richardson's Pilgrimage.
