El Club de Los Primogenitos

The Firstborn Club, a group similar to Alcoholics Anonymous, accepts anyone who has been kidnapped at some point in their life. These are people deeply scarred by their trauma, prone to extreme behavior, who seek to help each other without revealing their identities--they have all adopted names of writers beginning with "B" Brontë, Baudelaire, Bazán... Beatriz Bernal, one of them, reports the abduction of her daughter by her mother, a sort of 21st-century healer, a woman who has dedicated her life to curing the evil eye. To locate her, Beatriz turns to Navacerrada, a kind of investigator used by the most disadvantaged classes when they are victims of harassment, theft, or any other contingency for which they would need a lawyer or detective they cannot afford. Navacerrada, a former police officer, social worker, and ex-convict, earns his living from these tasks, but must combine them with odd jobs to survive. Divided into six parts, organized into short chapters named like the headings of a film script to make for easier reading, El club de los primogénitos is a novel as dark as the humor that runs through it, revolving around an extravagant scam, with an esoteric air, all the evils of all people and no murders, because the characters who circulate in it have nowhere to drop dead.

JUAN RAMÓN BIEDMA, autor multipremiado (Premio Hammett, tres veces Premio Novelpol, Premio Alfonso el Magnánimo, Premio Especial de la Dirección de la Semana Negra, Premio Semana Gótica de Madrid, Premio La Gangsterera a la mejor novela policíaca, Premio Castellón Negro a toda su trayectoria, Mejor Novela en Valencia Negra, Premio Fernando Quiñones, Premio Celsius, Premio Letras del Mediterráneo... ) y multitraducido (alemán, portugués, ruso, griego y turco), nace en Sevilla y estudia Derecho pero encamina su carrera hacia la gestión de emergencias, actividad compartida con la de locutor radiofónico, colaborador en diversas cabeceras, editor literario, profesor de narrativa y crítico cinematográfico. Desde la aparición de 'El manuscrito de Dios' en 2005, ha lanzado un total de diez novelas además de una novela gráfica, varias compilaciones de relatos y otras muchas publicaciones. En 2023 aparece 'Crisanta', en 2024 'Contrarreparto', su primer ensayo cinematográfico, y en 2025, tras ganar el Premio Letras del Mediterráneo, vuelve a la ficción con 'El club de los primogénitos' (Almuzara).
