Follow the events that lead up to the full-length novel, The Great Remembering. In 2022's The Great Remembering Nazis secretly took over America and renamed it Neo Columbia. They invaded Canada and Mexico. The country is controlled by Oligarchs and the President is controlled by a Tech Oligarch. But it didn't happen overnight. Things were set in motion for decades. The Penny Dreadful Collection shows the lead up to this. For convenience I have simply combined the first volume of short stories into one anthology. Page counts vary but the Penny Dreadful Collection should average 140 pages.
In chronological order, but not their original publishing order; Koschei's Arrow, The Broken Arrow, Ashley and Connie, Moonlight Over Monte Carlo, Operation Spring Heeled Jack, Masterson's Miscalculation, and Black Sheep and Black Jade. All these back stories equaling a little over half of a full-length novel as an anthology.
If you are interested in the theology I use in The Broken Arrow, please @ me on Twitter @Justin_L_Smith_. I can send you a thread that explains these things in greater detail. The Broken Arrow is a short story. With all the information I have on this, it could never all work in a short story. I have had much of my series planned since 2020. Unfortunately, developing Systemic Mastocytosis in late 2023 has greatly slown me down. I intended to write a Dystopian Series that felt real. Like this could all really happen. Sadly, what was intended as a warning about Horseshoe Theory was well warranted. I am currently working slowly on the sequel to The Great Remembering when I have have the strength, energy, and time to do so. Once it is complete, I will write a new series of short stories to go along with it and keep using the ideas I amassed over the years as some of these ideas won't work in full-length novels. I find this is more entertaining than a wiki page to flesh out various events and characters in the world of Scabbers.
