Ravens' Roost Farm

After learning she has inherited a house and some money from her late husband's cousin, Bethany Benson, with only $12.86 left to her name, flees unspeakable hardships in the hope of finding a better life for herself and her two children. Upon arriving at Ravens' Roost Farm in Oak Grove, Virginia, she finds the house in disrepair with a giant tree limb blocking the entry. Joe Gardner, the oddly familiar and incredibly sexy man who rents the farmland she now owns, offers his assistance and optimism despite his own desperate circumstances.
On a whim and to their mutual benefit, Bethany and Joe decide to get married and help each other, but things take a turn when human skeletal remains are discovered in the barn.

Lacynda Mathes is a graduate of Radford University in Radford, VA. She holds a B.A. in English.
She is originally from Oak Grove, VA, in Westmoreland County near Colonial Beach. She graduated from Washington and Lee High School, Montross, VA, in 1986. She attended Randolph-Macon College, studied abroad at Wroxton College in Oxfordshire, England, and ultimately transferred to Radford University, where she completed her degree.
She currently resides in Sterling, IL, with her husband. She is the mother to their teenage sons, the eldest with special needs, who has been diagnosed with Lennox Gestaut Syndrome, a catastrophic childhood epilepsy, and severe autism.
