Reading and Loving

Originally published in 1977. Leila Berg believes that the enjoyment of books and acquisition of reading and writing grows from shared enjoyment with another human being. She traces the ways that babies learn to communicate, discusses the place of books in the lives of different groups in the community, and examines types of books used in school.
