Beschreibung

Before Simon Templar became a legend, he had to meet the Tiger. In a quiet English coastal village, Simon Templar is hunting a dangerous criminal mastermind known only as the Tiger. Somewhere nearby is a fortune in stolen gold, and the Saint intends to recover it. But first he must discover which of the seemingly respectable people around him is hiding behind the Tiger's identity. With Patricia Holm at his side, Templar plunges into a contest of deception, danger, and increasingly deadly stakes. The Saint Meets the Tiger, originally published as Meet the Tiger, introduced readers to Simon Templar-the irreverent, resourceful adventurer whose unconventional methods and personal code of justice would carry him through decades of adventures. Fast-moving, witty, and filled with hidden identities and criminal intrigue, this is where the remarkable career of Leslie Charteris's most famous creation began

Portrait

Leslie Charteris (1907-1993) was a British-Chinese novelist and screenwriter best known as the creator of Simon Templar, the charming, audacious adventurer known as the Saint. Born Leslie Charles Bowyer-Yin in Singapore, Charteris adopted his pen name while still a young man and created Templar before his twenty-first birthday. The character became the center of an extraordinarily successful series spanning novels, novellas, short stories, radio, film, television, and comics. Charteris remained closely associated with the Saint for more than half a century, establishing Simon Templar as one of the most enduring popular heroes of twentieth-century adventure and crime fiction.
