Parenting adolescents is a challenging task for parents. Professionals offer a range of support and parenting programmes to support parents. This book provides a comparison of East and West parenting approaches and parenting programmes to show how vital a culturally sensitive approach is to the positive development of the parent-adolescent relationship. Low Yiu Tsang Andrew is Assistant Professor at Department of Social and Behavioural Sciences, City University of Hong Kong. Before moving into social work education in 2010, he worked for 17 years as a registered social worker. His main research interests lie in the evaluation of preventive interventions like indigenous parenting programmes in Chinese culture, positive youth development programmes in school settings and suicide prevention programmes in school settings among others.
