Beschreibung

While putting the finishing touches to the exhibition 'One century of Africanism', Martin Finley has to start an investigation: African art pieces have been stolen as they were being unloaded from a cargo boat in the Liverpool harbor. Thus begins the confrontation between the captain of a harbor that is loosing its business, and museum men who would like to transforms the dockyard into a place for cultural activities. The confrontation is also that of two brothers: Abel, the exhibition organiser, and Jason, the artist from black Africa. And on each continent, a woman: Julia and Alice, two loves for two men, the one who stays and the one who leaves. Luc Lang lives close to Paris and teaches aesthetics at the School of Art. La fin des paysages is his seventh novel and his most ambitious, complex book to date.
Mille six cents ventres (Prix Goncourt des lycéens, 1998), Les Indiens (2001) and 11 septembre, mon amour (2003), were published at the ' Collection Bleue '.
