The Franco-German War, also called the Franco-Prussian War (July 19, 1870 - Mayo 10, 1871) was a conflict in which a coalition of German states led by Prussia defeated France. The German troops advanced into France and decisively defeated the French at Sedan. This war violently changed the course of European history, marking the end of the French hegemony in continental Europe and resulted in the proclamation of the new German Empire at Versailles: it was the climax of Bismarck's ambitions to unite Germany.La guerra franco-tedesca, detta anche guerra franco-prussiana (19 luglio 1870 - 10 maggio 1871) fu un conflitto in cui una coalizione di Stati tedeschi guidata dalla Prussia sconfisse la Francia. Questa guerra cambiò violentemente il corso della storia europea, segnando la fine dell'egemonia francese nell'Europa continentale e portò alla proclamazione del nuovo Impero tedesco a Versailles: fu il culmine delle ambizioni di Bismarck di unire la Germania.

He is also the editorial manager of Soldiershop publishing, an Italian publishing company specializing in military and illustrated history. He currently lives near Bergamo in North Italy.
