Barcelona, ​​1938. As the Civil War nears its end and the city lives amidst scarcity and mistrust, Hugo, a young man who dreams of becoming a painter, and Pablo, a teacher and staunch defender of secular education, cross paths. Amidst the chaos, a deep bond is forged between them, becoming a refuge from the surrounding uncertainty. After the fall of Catalonia, they are forced to flee to Paris, the beginning of a journey through a devastated Europe. The war separates them and throws them down different paths; from then on, they must traverse some of the darkest and most decisive scenes of the 20th century: London, Auschwitz, the Italian and Polish fronts, kyiv, Moscow, Berlin. When the guns fall silent, peace brings no rest. The Cold War once again pits their destinies against each other, placing them on opposing sides of a divided world.
