After a forty-year career as a Cleveland-based orchestral conductor and music educator, Martin Kessler has pivoted to writing as his primary creative pursuit. In 2022, he published his memoir, The Podium Papers with Outskirts Press, and two of his poems have received awards and publication through WOMR's Outermost Poetry Contest. Hoare and the Secret Agent is the first in a projected trilogy of maritime mysteries featuring Wilder Perkins' Captain Bartholomew Hoare. With his wife, Joyce, Mr. Kessler lives in Cleveland, Ohio and Provincetown, Massachusetts where his interests include cooking, biking and day-boat sailing.
