The Silence Signal

A government worker responsible for managing all mobile and Wi-Fi connections across the United States had grown frustrated with people constantly walking into him on the streets, distracted by their phones. One morning, fed up with it all, he decided to teach the country a lesson by shutting down mobile service nationwide for exactly three minutes. People woke up in a panic. The timer went off. Three minutes was up. But something was wrong. The lever wouldn't move up or down. Frozen in panic, he stared at the controls and whispered, "What have I done?"
