On his first hunt through the Ice Age, Simon the saber-toothed tiger cub encounters a variety of animals and faces a viscous pack of dire wolves. Includes facts about prehistoric animals.
Max Amato is the author and illustrator of several picture books. His stories use uncommon characters to explore themes that defined his childhood: perfectionism, companionship, identity, creativity, competitiveness, and of course, dinosaurs.
In addition to his work in children's books, Max is an independent graphic designer and art director, working primarily in brand identity for clients in sports, music, technology, and fashion.
Max grew up in Silver Spring, Maryland, and studied graphic design at Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia before moving to Brooklyn, NY, where he lives in an apartment with lots of character but no washer/dryer.
When he is not writing children's books you can find him playing basketball, sketching furniture designs in the park, attending concerts, visiting art galleries, and people watching. For more information about Max and his books, please visit maxamato.com.
Brendan McAuliffe is an author and illustrator with Stomp, Soar, Dino Roar being his debut picture book. Professionally, like Max, Brendan is an independent graphic designer and art director, working primarily in brand identity for clients in sports, food and beverage, technology, and hospitality.
Brendan McAuliffe grew up in Seattle, Washington before studying graphic design alongside Max at Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia. Brendan currently resides in Brooklyn, New York with a family of pigeons who have taken up residence outside his window.
When he is not writing and illustrating picture books, Brendan can be difficult to find, as he has left his desk to explore forgotten parts of the city by bicycle or foot, looking for a moment of quiet. For more information on Brendan and his work, please visit brendanmcauliffe.com.
