Under the Sand

Beside the blue sea, where the salt water sprayed, Elizabeth crouched with her bucket and spade. Digging beneath her in search of lost treasure, she hit something solid and cried out with pleasure. It was smooth, hard and round, and felt cool in her hand. What could it be, this thing under the sand?

Millie Lewis has loved books since she was a little girl. Her parents still tease her because when she was 4 years old and they took her to see Beauty and the Beast, she was really only interested in the scene with the giant library... "So many books!" Aside from books, Millie's favorite things include: rescue dogs, coffee beans, the color pink, piano music and general silliness. Millie lives in Sydney, Australia, with her husband, son and daughter. When she isn't physically writing, she is playing 'What if...?' and thinking up increasingly ridiculous story ideas. She believes picture books have the power to change the world by unleashing the magic of children's imaginations.
