¿LASERS: AN INNOVATIVE TOOL IN PROSTHODONTICS¿

Lasers have been used in dentistry since the 1960s, with applications in prosthodontics, pre-prosthetic surgery, implantology, and forensic dentistry. They are categorized into soft and hard lasers, including CO2, Nd, and diode lasers. Lasers offer precision in tissue treatment, minimize bleeding, reduce tissue shrinkage, and are used for welding dental materials like titanium. In implantology, lasers enable immediate impression-taking after surgery and reduce tissue trauma. Safety precautions are essential for operators during laser procedures.

I, Dr. Shrinidhi Patla, am a third-year postgraduate student in the Department of Prosthodontics, Crown, Bridge & Oral Implantology. I am fortunate to be guided by Dr. Nitesh Shetty, the Head of Department and Professor, who brings approximately 25 years of extensive teaching experience to his role.
