Beschreibung

P. G. Wodehouse's The Little Nugget is a lively comic adventure involving a wealthy boy, an unlikely kidnapping scheme, and the delightfully tangled situations that only Wodehouse could devise. Ogden Ford-nicknamed "the Little Nugget" because of his immense fortune-is the spoiled son of an American millionaire. His fortune makes him a tempting target for those seeking an easy path to wealth, and before long a plot emerges to kidnap the boy and demand a handsome ransom. Standing between the schemers and their prize is the boy's resourceful tutor, Peter Burns, whose determination and quick thinking complicate the conspirators' plans at every turn. As the plot unfolds, Wodehouse introduces a colorful cast of characters whose competing motives create a series of humorous misunderstandings and unexpected reversals. Written during the early years of Wodehouse's career, The Little Nugget blends suspense and comedy in the author's distinctive style, combining fast-moving storytelling with the wit and charm that would later define his most famous works.
