Twelve-year-old Gabby's plan to have the best summer ever is dashed when her dad is deployed overseas and her mom moves the family to stay with Gabby's grandmother. Her efforts of making the best of the situation are complicated when she mistakenly signs up for the local Miss Popcorn pageant instead of the girls' softball team.
