The third Claire DeWitt novel from Sara Gran sets out with DeWitt left for dead in the desert, considering who from her past might want her dead along with the deeper mysteries out on the highway of life. According to Lauren Beukes 'if Haruki Murakami wrote "The Wire" it would come out something like Sara Gran'.

Sara Gran is the author of six critically acclaimed novels, including Claire DeWitt and the City of the Dead, Come Closer and Dope. She also writes for film and TV (including TNT's 'Southland') and has published in The New York Times, The New OrleansTimes Picayune, and USA Today.
