The Dark Prince's Vow

Every child in the kingdom is tested at seven. The assessor pressed his thumb to Elara Wren's sternum and said, flat as old beer, nothing. She has been nothing for eighteen years. Then a royal enforcer dies on her kitchen floor, burned from the inside out, and her hands come away covered in ash that glitters gold. Nothing does not burn a king's man out of his own coat. Whatever Elara is, the Crown has a word for it, and the word comes with a warrant. What she gets instead is a summons to Blood Oath Academy, where the realm's most dangerous children are taught what their power costs before they are permitted to spend it. Every promise made inside those walls is written in blood, and the Ink always collects. Kael Morvane is the prince they whisper about. Cold, exact, and the only person on that mountain who looks at a seamstress's daughter with dirt under her nails and sees something worth bargaining for. He offers her a vow. She has no idea what it will cost either of them. A cornered girl. A desperate deal with the realm's most dangerous man. Deadly trials, forbidden power, and a bargain neither of them can break. Blood Oath Academy, Book One.

Scarlett Vale writes dark romantasy for readers who like their crowns bloody and their love interests worse. Her stories are built on powerful heroines, dangerous rulers, forbidden attraction, and magic that costs something, blending obsession, political intrigue, epic fantasy, and the kind of devotion that reads like a threat. She believes a good villain is just a love interest who hasn't met the right person yet, and that the best romances are the ones that scare you a little. She believes everyone deserves a prince who would burn down his own kingdom before he let you fall. Scarlett is proud to call the Blackwood Publishing Agency home.
