Describes in detail how the results of an action research project helped professionals involved in therapy to modify their approach and thus provide genuine user-friendly family therapy.

Clinical tutor to the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology course and co-director of the Diploma Course in Family and Marital Therapy at the University of Exeter. He is based at the Department of Clinical and Community Psychology, Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital, Wonford, where he works as a family therapist.
