Walker-s Celia and Plath-s Esther are two oppressed women who are facing many problems within their personal lives. They both represent an average girl in their respected communities, Esther is the typical white female and Celie is the typical black female. Although both these females are living in a patriarchal society and are faced with limitations and injustices imposed upon them by the male, however their problems differ due to their race and color. Celiäs problems are much more complicated due to her skin color. Indeed, colored women-s issues are not addressed in white feminism. White feminists are criticized for focusing on white middle class women-s issues and ignoring the problems faced by the colored women. The study focus on how white feminism differs from black feminism and how differently these two women tackle their problems and try to be visible in the society.
