The moving follow-up to Susan Lucci's New York Times bestseller, All My Life.
The long-running Queen of Daytime television, Susan Lucci--who has gone by the endearment, La Lucci, since her earliest days on the set of All My Children--knows a thing or two about life, love, joy, adventure, and remaking oneself after loss, both personally and professionally.
While Erica Kane, her character on the daytime drama All My Children, had married eleven times during her forty-one years on air, Susan had been married only once--to the love of her life, Helmut Huber. When Helmut passed away unexpectedly in March of 2022, she faced one of the greatest challenges of her life--overcoming grief and striving to live with hope and joy again while still honoring her memories.
This is a book that celebrates love, friendships, those we admire up close or from afar, the influential teachers in our lives, the wonder of family, parenting and grandparenting, the magic of theatre, fulfilled dreams, grace, freshly baked apples, Alpine cheese, home renovations, modern medicine, faith, miracles large and small, mending one's heart, and moving forward. But most of all, this is a book written with gratitude.
It is with a tender mix of candor, humor, and vulnerability that Lucci reflects on both her many life blessings and her biggest hurdles. At turns entertaining, funny, sad, healing, and genuinely informative, her stories are not just about mourning loss, they are about grabbing and living life with gusto at every stage ... on every stage.
Susan Lucci is the most famous face in daytime television history, and held audiences spellbound for over forty years as the iconic Erica Kane, on ABC's award-winning daytime drama All My Children. In May of 1999, on her nineteenth nomination, she won the Emmy for Best Actress, a historic moment for all of television, receiving the longest-standing ovation in television history. Beyond daytime drama, Lucci also starred in Lifetime's Devious Maids, and Hot in Cleveland, played a role in the film Joy, and hosted Investigation Discovery's Deadly Affairs. A versatile performer, she has appeared on popular shows like Dancing with The Stars and Saturday Night Live and made her Broadway debut in Annie Get Your Gun. Her first memoir, All My Life, was released in 2011 and immediately topped the New York Times bestseller list.
Among her numerous honors and accolades, Susan was inducted into the Broadcasting Hall of Fame in 2006, received the Disney Legends Award in 2015 and has a star on the prestigious Hollywood Walk of Fame. She was named one of E! Entertainment's Top Entertainers of the Year and one of the late broadcast legend Barbara Walters' Ten Most Fascinating People. VH-1 has also named Lucci one of its 200 Top Icons of all Time, and in 2023 she received the Daytime Emmy's prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award. Currently, she is appearing on stage off-Broadway in Joy Behar's hilarious new comedy, My First Ex-Husband. Coming up, Susan is set to appear alongside Keanu Reeves in the upcoming Apple Original Film, Outcome.
