The second edition of The Routledge Handbook of the Politics of Migration in Europe provides a rigorous, provocative, and critical examination of what is exceptional about the European politics of migration and the study of it. Crucially, this book adopts a pan-European perspective to better explain the regional shades of European migration politics, inclusive of tendencies in all geographical parts of Europe. The volume accounts for recent developments that affect human mobility in Europe, including the significant number of asylum seekers from non-EU and non-European countries in 2014-2016, the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, Brexit, and the Russian war on Ukraine.
