Her best-known work, the Winnie the Witch series, has sold over five million copies worldwide. Korky Paul was born in Harare, Zimbabwe in 1951. His real name is Hamish Vigne Christie Paul. He studied at the Durban School of Art in Natal, South Africa, and then spent three years working for an advertising agency in Cape Town. In 1976, he "fled" to Europe and found work illustrating and designing educational books in Greece. He moved to Los Angeles, where he studied animation at CalArts. He is now a highly respected figure in the world of children's literature.
