Administrative Psychiatry

Originally published in 1937, Administrative Psychiatry was the first book to present theory and practice in a hospital for psychiatric patients. Every detail of the organization and direction of a psychiatric hospital is described in this volume. Everything advocated in this volume had passed the test of actual trial.

Dr William A. (Alvin) Bryan (1883-1944) was at the time of his death one of the most significant administrators of psychiatric hospitals. Throughout his years of service he promoted the greater utilization of the public mental hospital as a force for good in the community and as a teaching institution in psychiatric and related fields.
