Clara Dubber started at Mouse & Bear running the monthly English Reading Groups, which were born of their experience running English and art programs and Caty's ethos of making books accessible to young readers. They grew up in the United States and Canada and live in Berlin studying Ecology, Evolution and Biodiversity.

Karen (she/her)

Karen Simon has extensive experience as a children’s librarian, having worked in public and academic libraries in the San Francisco Bay area, Chicago and Nebraska. She earned her Bachelor of the Arts degree in English Language and Literature from the University of Chicago and her Master of Library and Information Science degree from the University of Illinois. Her passions are children's literature, storytime, music, early literacy, child development, art, and writing. She lives in Berlin with her husband and toddler.

Karen Simon verfügt über umfangreiche Erfahrungen als Kinderbibliothekarin, die sie in öffentlichen und wissenschaftlichen Bibliotheken in der San Francisco Bay Area, Chicago und Nebraska gesammelt hat. I'm Caty, the founder of Mouse & Bear Books. I grew up and studied in Montana before coming over to Germany to study literature.

My bookstore is about creating a space for young readers to discover reading for themselves at their own pace. Reading lets you lose or find yourself in familiar or foreign worlds. It teaches us about the world and ourselves and builds empathy. I hope to share my love of reading with this new generation of readers!

Hi! Ich bin Caty, die Gründerin von Mouse & Bear Books. Ich bin in Montana aufgewachsen und als Literaturstudentin nach Deutschland gekommen. Meine Liebe zu Büchern habe ich wohl mit der Muttermilch aufgenommen - meine Mutter ist Bibliothekarin und hat unser Haus mit Büchern vollgepackt.

Mit der Geburt meiner Kinder hier in Berlin wurde mir klar, dass es mir nicht nur um die Bücher geht, sondern um das Lesen an sich. Meine Buchhandlung soll ein Ort für junge Leser sein, das Lesen für sich zu entdecken, auf ihre eigene Weise. Beim Lesen kannst Du dich verlieren oder finden, in vertrauten oder fernen Welten. Es zeigt uns die Welt und uns selbst und lehrt Mitgefühl. Ich hoffe, dass ich meine Liebe für das Lesen an die nächste Generation von Lesern verteilen kann!
