The book entitled "Advancements in Smart City and Intelligent Building" is the Proceedings of the International Conference on Smart City and Intelligent Building (ICSCIB 2018) held in Hefei, China, September 15-16, 2018. It contains 58 papers in total categorized into 8 different tracks, on Building Energy Efficiency, Construction Robot and Automation, Intelligent Community and Urban Safety, Intelligentialization of Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning System, Information Technology and Intelligent Transportation Systems, New Generation Intelligent Building Platform Techniques, Smart Home and Utility, and Smart Underground Space, which cover a wide range areas of smart cities and intelligent buildings. ICSCIB2018 provided an international forum for professionals, academics, and researchers to present the latest developments from interdisciplinary theoretical studies, computational algorithm developments and engineering applications in smart cities and smart buildings. Qiansheng Fang is currently the president of Anhui Jianzhu University, Anhui, China. He received his Ph.D. degree in Engineering from the University of Science and Technology of China. He served as the director of the Anhui Province Key Laboratory of Intelligent Building and Building Energy Saving in 2017. He has published 4 books and holds more than 20 patents. Quanmin Zhu is a professor at the University of the West of England (UWE), Bristol, UK. He received his Ph.D. degree in engineering from the University of Warwick. He has published more than 200 articles in international journals and co-authored 6 books. Feng Qiao is a professor at Shenyang Jianzhu University, Shenyang, China. He received his Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of the West of England. His research interests include fuzzy logic systems, neural networks, adaptive control, modeling and simulation and etc. He has published more than 60 academic papers.
