Escribe sobre antropología, arqueología, ciencia, medio ambiente, salud y desarrollo social. A los 21 años cruzó el Atlántico, desde Tamaulipas hasta Róterdam, trabajando en un barco mercante. Ha vivido en Boston, Madrid, Río de Janeiro, Berlín y San Diego. Actualmente radica en Cuernavaca, México. Ha ganado los premios de periodismo Walter Reuter y el Conservation International.
