Dr. Aydin Akan received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh in 1996. He is currently a Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering, Izmir Katip Celebi University, Izmir, Turkey. His research interests are non-stationary signal processing, time-frequency signal analysis methods and their applications to biomedical engineering and wireless communications. Dr. Akan is a senior member of the IEEE, Signal Processing Society (SPS), and Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (EMBS), and editorial board member of the Digital Signal Processing Journal.
