We also like to twist it up to give dishes our modern spin, so you can find recipes for Honey roasted jerk-spiced salmon, Plantain beanburgers and Banana fritter cheesecake. We want to share the joy and togetherness that food brings: a testament to the culture of Jamaica, the fun, fantastic FLAVAs, and the stories behind the food, straight from the people of Jamaica. Craig and Shaun McAnuff, raised in London and of Jamaican descent, are bringing Caribbean food to the masses. In April 2016, they launched Original Flava, sharing videos of them cooking simple Caribbean recipes. Their videos went viral and within a month they had garnered 70k followers and had been interviewed on TV. They have since been featured on the BBC, Buzzfeed, BET Network, London Live and Reprezent Radio, and successfully self-published their first cookbook Caribbean Cookbook in 2017. They have since gone on to publish three books with Bloomsbury, and their fourth - Easy Caribbean - will launch in 2026. Alongside their still-growing social media, Craig and Shaun have been busy with Original Flava residencies, tv appearances, brand partnerships, showcases at food festivals and bringing Caribbean flava into local schools.
