Since 2017, Dr Edward Hampshire has been a historian at the Naval Historical Branch of the Ministry of Defence. His earlier roles included teaching at the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst, and at the Joint Service Command and Staff College, Shrivenham, as well as working at the National Archives. He has written on the Cold War at sea, British naval and defense policy since 1945, diplomatic history, and intelligence history.
