Great food on a tight budget does not need a long list of recipes. It needs a plan. This book gives you four seasonal weeks of Mediterranean-style dinners and lunches, each with a complete shopping list, a relative cost level for every night, and recipes with quantities and timings. You will learn how to stock a lean pantry, cook a pot of dried beans safely, buy and store fish in canned, frozen and fresh form, and turn one big batch into three different meals. A flexible seven-slot template lets you swap ingredients without breaking the budget, and a simple method shows you how to price any menu with your own receipts. Cook the week as written, or use it as a framework for whatever your market sells cheapest.
