Gin rummy looks simple until someone says "knock" and you cannot tell whether you just won or lost. This patient, step-by-step guide takes you from the first deal to confident play at the table. You will learn the ten-card deal, sets and runs, the draw-and-discard turn, how to count deadwood, and exactly when you may knock, go gin or lay off cards. Every scoring rule, including the undercut, box bonuses and game bonus, is worked through with full calculations and a score sheet you can keep. Strategy chapters show which cards to hold early, how to read the discard pile and when to knock or wait for gin. Oklahoma, Hollywood, three- and four-player versions, house rules, etiquette and online play are covered too, and each chapter ends with practice hands and answers.
