It's 5:58 a.m. and you're typing an apology to a neighbor you've never met, because the rooster you didn't mean to end up with has crowed three times since five, and the kids next door are already yelling at him to knock it off. Or maybe it's worse: he charged you in the run this morning, spurs first, and your hand is still shaking. Or your favorite hen's back is bald and scabbed, and you don't know if that's normal or an emergency. Problem Rooster Fix is a plain, practical guide to exactly those three problems: crowing that's drawing complaints, aggression that's drawing blood, and overmating that's hurting your hens. It is not a general chicken-care book with one short section on roosters, and it is not a neighbor-dispute guide borrowed from somewhere else; it stays in one lane, the rooster himself, from his first warning sign to the hard final call. Inside, you'll learn: How to tell a rooster who's simply being a rooster from one becoming genuinely dangerous, using a four-stage warning-sign ladder Exactly what to do in the middle of an attack to protect yourself, a child, or a pet, and how to treat the wound afterward A step-by-step taming method you can run for a few weeks with a fair, honest test of whether it's working Why he won't stop crowing, what a no-crow collar can and can't do, and which specific steps actually calm an angry neighbor How to protect a hen from overmating with a simple saddle, the right rooster-to-hen ratio, and how to nurse a bald, scabbed back back to health What to do when you have more than one rooster, and how to keep them from tearing each other apart A clear-headed framework for deciding whether to keep managing him, rehome him responsibly, or have him humanely culled How to raise your next cockerel, if you get one, so you don't end up right back here You don't have to love or hate your rooster to fix this. You need a plan, a fair test, and permission to make the call. Start with Chapter 1 and find out which kind of problem you actually have.
