They told you not to lift anything heavier than the baby and sent you home with a one-page sheet. Nobody mentioned how hard it would be to get off the couch, what to do when your toddler holds up his arms, why one end of your incision suddenly looks pink, whether the overhang above your scar will ever go away, or how to feel about a birth that ended in an operating room you never planned to be in. So you ended up where so many mothers end up: reading C-section threads during night feeds, asking strangers what's normal. C-Section Recovery Week by Week gives you the honest, practical plan that sheet left out, from the days before a scheduled surgery, or the first day after an emergency one, through the first year and into the question of another baby. It isn't a general new-mom book with a C-section sidebar, a postpartum depression guide or a pelvic floor program. It is written for one job: recovering well from major abdominal surgery while caring for a newborn. Inside, you'll learn: What was actually done during your surgery, layer by layer, and how to get your operative report The real must-haves, home setup and help plan mothers wish they'd had How to get out of bed, climb stairs, cough and feed your baby without straining your incision An honest week-by-week timeline, plus the day-after test that keeps you out of the overdoing-it trap A pain plan that keeps you ahead of the pain without leaving you foggy Daily incision care, and exactly which signs mean call today and which mean call 911 Realistic answers about the shelf, the scar, numbness, rebuilding your core and sex after a C-section How to make peace with a birth that didn't go to plan, and how to weigh VBAC or a repeat C-section next time Written in plain language by someone who took every forum question seriously, this is the book to keep by the bed from the first night home. A C-section is major surgery plus a newborn, and your recovery deserves a plan that treats it that way.
