Janita-Marja Juvonen, die in den offiziellen Papieren schlicht als Janita geführt wird, ist eine Frau mit vielen Namen und noch mehr Lebenserfahrungen. Geboren als Janita-Marja, wurde sie von ihren Adoptiveltern in Stefanie umbenannt und trug auf den Straßen den Spitznamen JJ. Trotz der vielen Identitäten und Herausforderungen in ihrem Leben, bleibt eines konstant: Sie ist und bleibt Janita-Marja Juvonen.
Mit 43 Jahren hat sie mehr erlebt als die meisten Menschen in einem ganzen Leben. Es war keineswegs sicher, dass sie dieses Alter erreichen würde, nachdem sie 14 Jahre lang mit schwerer Drogenabhängigkeit und Obdachlosigkeit zu kämpfen hatte. Diese Jahre haben nicht nur physische, sondern auch emotionale Narben hinterlassen, die sie zur Frührentnerin gemacht haben.
Doch Ruhestand bedeutet für Janita-Marja Juvonen keineswegs Untätigkeit. Sie engagiert sich leidenschaftlich in der Aufklärungsarbeit rund um die Themen Obdachlosigkeit und Sucht. Besonders am Herzen liegen ihr Schulbesuche, wo sie ihre Erfahrungen mit einer breiten Altersgruppe teilt, von 7 bis 109 Jahren. Darüber hinaus bietet sie Stadtführungen in Essen an, die sich dem komplexen Thema der Obdachlosigkeit widmen.
