Jorge Bolívar estudió Ciencias de la Información en la Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona, y Biología e Historia en la Universidad de Sevilla, donde se especializó en Historia de la Ciencia. Como periodista ha trabajado en medios de prensa, radio y televisión, además de colaborar en numerosas publicaciones especializadas. Con Almuzara ha publicado recientemente La sonrisa del átomo y otras historias científicas sobre el Universo (Almuzara, 2013), El huevo de dinosaurio y otras historias científicas sobre la Evolución (Guadalmazán, 2013), La estrategia de Pandora y otras historias científicas sobre Gaia, la Vida y la Tierra (Guadalmazán, 2014) y El día que descubrimos el Universo. El conocimiento del cosmos tras un siglo de relatividad (Guadalmazán, 2015). Entre otros galardones ha obtenido el Premio Andalucía de Periodismo, el Premio Máster Europeo de Periodismo Científico y el Premio unicef de Naciones Unidas a la Mejor Labor de Divulgación. Con Científicas (Guadalmazán, 2018) obtuvo el prestigioso Prismas Casa de las Ciencias a la Divulgación Científica, otorgado por los Museos Científicos Coruñeses/Ayuntamiento de A Coruña.
