Beschreibung

Nanofluid Flow, Heat, and Mass Transfer at Stretching Surfaces explores nanofluid and hybrid nanofluid flow at a moving surface, stretching plate, stretching disk, and past a stretching surface. It demonstrates the wide range of applications of nanofluid heat and mass transport enhancement in many industrial and manufacturing processes. With a combination of numerical and analytical approaches, the book presents multiple solution strategies, including boundary layer flow problems with dimensionless equations, numerical simulation, and theoretical approaches. It discusses unique physical phenomena, including phase change, buoyancy, chemical reactions, moving/stretching surfaces, and magnetohydrodynamics. The book analyzes hybrid nanofluid flow past a stretching surface in the presence of a magnetic field and the effects of activation energy and heat generation/absorption. It includes real-world case studies and solutions. The book will interest industry researchers and graduate students studying applications of nanotechnology and nanofluids within the fields of mechanical, chemical, manufacturing, and biomedical engineering.

Portrait

Kuppalapalle Vajravelu has obtained a Ph.D. degree in Applied Mathematics from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, India. He is a professor at the University of Central Florida, Orlando, Florida, USA. He has been actively engaged in research in the fields of Nanofluid Flow, Biofluids, Fluid Dynamics, and Numerical Heat Transfer for the past 47 years. Several students did Undergraduate Research with him and got NSF fellowships to do Ph.D. Furthermore, he supervised M.S. and Ph.D. students, and published several (four hundred fifty plus) research articles and books (five) on Differential Equations and their Applications. Also, he reviewed and reviewed papers for reputed national and international journals. He has a total of 15,936 citations, with an H- index of 64 (as per Google Scholar). He was the Editor-in-Chief of the journal Differential Equations and Nonlinear Mechanics for three years. Also, he is on the editorial boards of several journals. John P. Abraham is a professor of mechanical engineering at the University of St. Thomas in Minnesota, USA. His research and teaching activities relate to the mechanical engineering discipline and include design with a special focus on the thermal sciences. He has published approximately 500 works, including journal papers, book chapters, books, conference presentations, and patents. He is an active consultant and has worked in the medical device, defense, sustainability, manufacturing, and other industries. Swati Mukhopadhyay is working at the University of Burdwan, Burdwan, West Bengal, India. She obtained a Ph.D. degree from the same university and has been actively engaged in research in the field of Fluid Dynamics, Nanofluid Flow, and Heat Transfer for the past 18 years. She published more than 180 research articles and a book. A number of students obtained their Ph.D. degrees under her able supervision. She has 7,454 citations with h index: 49 (by Google Scholar) and 5,553 citations with h index: 43 (by SCOPUS) as of the 26 April, 2025. P. Lakshminarayana is working at Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore, Tamil Nadu, India. He obtained a Ph.D. degree from Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, India. He is an active researcher in the field of Fluid Dynamics, Peristaltic Transport, Boundary Layer, Nanofluid Flow, and Heat and Mass Transfer for the past 15 years. He has published more than 75 research articles and three book chapters. Three students obtained their Ph.D. degrees, and five students are pursuing their Ph.D., under his supervision. He has 2,126 citations with h index: 28 (by Google Scholar) and 1,746 citations with h index: 26 (by SCOPUS) as of the 27 April, 2025.
