Sun Lili is an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, expert in petrochemical engineering technology and management, national engineering survey and design master, and fellow of Chemical Industry and Engineering Society of China (CIESC). She is currently Chairman of Sinopec Engineering (Group) Co., Ltd. and Executive Director and Director of the Technical Committee of SINOPEC Engineering Incorporation. She also serves as Vice Chairman of Chemical Process Intensification Committee of CIESC, President of Beijing Petroleum Society, and standing member of the 8th Committee of Beijing Association of Science and Technology. Sun Lili has been committed to the research and practice of petrochemical engineering technology, design and management for years. She has put forward the engineering management idea of integration and co-existence, and constructed a whole-process and multi-dimensional integrated management model for petrochemical projects. She has carried out process innovation based on intensification technology, and developed the high-efficiency and environmentally-friendly integrated design technology for aromatics, filling in the domestic gap in the engineering innovation of independent aromatics technology. She has developed a series of engineering technologies for the clean and efficient conversion of crude oils, making major breakthroughs in the integrated innovation of refining technology. She has developed the key technology for high acid natural gas purification, solving the worldwide problem of safe and efficient purification of high acid natural gas on a large scale. She has also led the engineering design and construction of many milestone refining and petrochemical projects such as China's first Aromatics Complex using independent technology, China's first refinery with a single train capacity of 10 million tons per year and the world's second largest high acid natural gas purification plant. Sun Lili has won 2 Grand Prizes and 2 Second Prizes of National Science and Technology Progress Award, 1 Grand Prize and 10 First Prizes of Provincial and Ministerial Science and Technology Progress Award, Ho Leung Ho Lee Prize for Scientific and Technological Innovation, Hou Debang Chemical Science and Technology Achievement Award, and special government allowances of the State Council. She has been granted 38 patents, and has published 4 monographs and more than 50 academic papers.
